 Measures is an experimental music project that is far from predictable. Always pushing boundaries with no set genre that springs to mind. Measures sound explores everything from ambient, experimental, industrial to drone. Measures made their debut on the net label aReW recordings in March 2010 with the self titled 7 track album which had a very experimental industrial feel to it, Measures released a follow up to the self titled album in August 2010 with EP1. A completely different direction in sound from the previous release through aReW recordings. EP1 showed a more laid back chill out almost ambient style of sound with 4 tracks clocking in at 38 minutes. July 2011 saw the third measures release through aReW recordings called tech noir pleasure. A 24 minute drone piece inspired by certain scenes in the film terminator. Again measures highlighted how versatile and unpredictable the measures sound is with yet another change in direction compared to the previous two releases through aReW recordings. |
